Lula Mae Blocton

Lula Mae Blocton shows canvases and works on paper from several decades, up to the concentric-circle paintings that are also on view at the Aldrich Museum. Her geometric compositions rely on mirrored symmetry, layered color and patterns taken from African textiles, and the show ties them to equality and to Queer and African American pride. It is her third solo exhibition at Skoto, curated by Barbara Stehle.
