Svetlana is pleased to present a group exhibition. The show features the work of five artists known to us. For the show, all five artists exhibit paintings.

The works were selected in dialog with each artist individually, discrete from conversations with the others. That’s not so unusual you might suppose. Much of the work was made in New York, and several of the artists came to the gallery to oversee installation. Some works were shipped from other places.

One thing you might intuit is that sensible references abound, however incomplete or provisional. There may be some semblance of a social grouping. There is no attempt in the hanging to discipline the works to a unifying narrative. Here are some approaches.
