Anna Rubin

At the gallery of Maxwell Graham Anna Rubin presents the exhibtion The Gram alongside Super Gift.

The Gram was made by a homing pigeon carrying a camera. The duration of The Gram is the length of this homing pigeon’s flight from Midtown Manhattan back to its home in the Bronx. Homing pigeons began carrying messages in the 14th century and cameras began recording messages in the 19th century. This homing pigeon carries no message except its own recording.

Super Gift was made by a person carrying a camera. The duration of Super Gift is the inventory of used miscellanea on display for sale in a shop in Lower Manhattan.

This is the first time Anna Rubin has made an exhibition in Manhattan. In the past and now the work of Anna Rubin uses the photographic and the filmic to describe time. The work is incidental. The work of Anna Rubin used Rolodexes, Black Boxes, Satellite Dishes, Lined Paper, Fishbowls, Automobiles.
