Penny Davenport & Jason Thompson

The BDDW Annex Gallery is pleased to announce (the secret things), an exhibition of works by UK-based artists Penny Davenport and Jason Thompson.

Davenport’s small paintings and intricately detailed drawings are peopled with anthropomorphic animals in monochromatic and limited palettes, simultaneously cute and foreboding.

Thompson uses enamel paint and layers of varnish on found wooden panels for his abstract geometric paintings. He describes his work as having a quality somewhere between a sacred icon and an old shed door.
