Fred Smith

Long Story Short (formerly known as Another Gallery) is pleased to present Hoy Hoy, a collection of twelve paintings by Fred Smith.

From dripping snot to a kitchen accident, Fred Smith seeks inspiration from their personal experiences and the absurd nature of the world. Imagining their work to be a parallel possibility of the reality we find ourselves in, Smith uses first person perspective and zoomed in imagery to dissect and question traditional narratives. They place the viewer into these outlandish yet familiar moments while highlighting the chance and risk that lies in the comedy of everyday life.

Fred Smith (b. 1987) lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina.
