More from Victoria Sin on Gallop

Soft Opening is pleased to present Victoria Sin, She’s Hopeful (2018), makeup on facial wipe, 21 × 17 cm. The exhibition presents a single work on view in the Piccadilly Circus Underground Station gallery.

Victoria Sin (b. 1991, Toronto, CA) is an artist using speculative fiction within performance, moving image, writing and print to interrupt normative processes of desire, identification, and objectification. Drawing from close personal encounters of looking and wanting, their work presents heavily constructed fantasy narratives on the often unsettling experience of the physical within the social body.

Sin recently opened the solo exhibition Narrative Reflections on Looking at the Museum of Contemporary Art (Zagreb, 2020). In 2021, the artist will be included in the touring exhibition British Art Show 9. Sin lives and works in London.
