The Still House Group is proud to present, Is There a Past in the Future?, a solo exhibition by Benjamin Lallier (b. 1985, France). Lallier is the seventeenth participant in Still House's rotating residency program.

Time is a defining human construct, a framework for measurement that is at once finite and malleable. It is nearly impossible to explain without incorporating its own name into our reasoning. We casually employ expressions that speak to its untraceable, omnipresent influence — "time flies", "right on time", "all in good time" — but how can we come to terms with that fundamental concept we all consciously or unconsciously experience at every moment? Time is seconds, motions, delineations, the composite of intervals both seen and felt. Their combination generates experience, or a way of understanding.
