In The Doubly Balanced Sky: Explorations in Windows and Pairs, Linnea Vedder reimagines the window as more than architecture, as metaphor, material, and mirror. Her works, installed at the scale of the gallery's front-facing windows, invite the audience to explore the dualities of form, gaze, and meaning, with the window acting as both surface and site where perception and illusion intertwine. Inside, small watercolor studies hang alongside a central fabric painting, quilted, dyed, and painted, that hovers between object and performance, evoking domestic labor and abstract inquiry. Throughout the exhibition, the motif of the pair recurs, not as balance or opposition but as a fluid, shifting relation. Vedder's work resists resolution, dwelling in the in-between interior and exterior space, self and other, and engaging the audience in this exploration.

Linnea Vedder is a New York-based artist working in painting and sculpture. Using fabric, textiles, and dyed materials, she creates richly textured works that reflect the spiritual in everyday gestures. Her work has appeared at Lubov, Jack Hanley, The Kitchen, Essex Flowers, and more.
