Harry Moritz

A.D. NYC is pleased to present Vasa Deferentia, a solo exhibition by artist Harry Moritz.

Inserting found and created imagery and objects into undulating aluminum forms, Moritz’s machined sculptures are rooted in collage. The works utilize screenshots from dating sites, Invisalign trays and other autobiographical ephemera that are entombed in resin that act as plaques, frames, lamps and oversized figures. Here industrial history is the foundation to insert personal experience; where sensuality in all its maladroit glory meets the rigidity and coldness of machining processes.

"The vessel carries away the scene as it finds new forms and extensions. Starting from a small burst within, the contents are released into an atmosphere they have never known. There aren’t too many minutes that proceed their life. But the potential to change the course within moments is where their power lies. The vessel, as reactionary as it may be, plays its important role in daily life. Without it, would we all be floating patiently in a realm of stored potential?"
