Edith Deyerling

Gems is proud to present Give Back the Darkness, a solo exhibition by Edith Deyerling.

For her first solo presentation in New York, Deyerling showcases seven paintings hung within a time-based light installation that alternate between fluorescent bulbs during the day and UV lights at night. Programmed to transition at dusk, the black light transforms the works as well as illuminate the white gallery walls to a radiating purple whose glow projects on the surrounding sidewalk of the gallery. A mauve beacon on East Broadway, the exhibition can be viewed 24 hours a day through the space’s windows.
