A.D. NYC is pleased to present our final exhibition at 19 Monroe St. entitled The Waltz.

We will inaugurate a new gallery location in Ridgewood, Queens this coming May.

George Gittins lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Recent exhibitions include Scenes, A.D. NYC, Manners, A.D. NYC, Elizabeth Broome, NYC, 106 Green, Brooklyn, NY, and White Box, NYC.

Philip Hinge is an artist, curator and project space operator based in Ridgewood, NY. Hinge holds an MFA in painting from the Virginia Commonwealth University. His work has been exhibited at a variety of venues, including International Waters (Brooklyn, NY), Martos Gallery (NY,NY) Brennan & Griffin (NY, NY), 427 (Riga, Latvia), Final Hot Desert (Utah), Afternoon Projects (Vancouver, BC), The Bunker Artspace (West Palm Beach, Florida), General Expenses (CDMX), Plague Space (Krasnador, RU), Freddy, (Harrison, NY), & Lower Cavity (Holyoke, MA). In addition to his studio work, Hinge also runs and curates two separate projects, Catbox Contemporary (Ridgewood, NY), and darkzone (NJ). Catbox Contemporary regularly held exhibitions in and out of Hinge’s apartment between 2017 and 2023, with notable external shows being held at Alyssa Davis Gallery (NY, NY), Hot Wheels Athens (Athens, Greece), Felix Art Fair (2019), and Baitball (Polignano a Amare, Italy). darkZone started in 2019 in Hinge’s childhood’s home’s basement. The project in its original form concluded in 2022 with the sale of the house. Hinge was a founding member of A.D. (NY, NY,) where he co-led the gallery from 2019-2021.

Pooneh Maghazehe is a Brooklyn-based sculptor. Recent solo exhibitions include “Double Barrel” at Martos After Dark, “Middleman” at Essex Flowers, “Half-Time” at KinoSaito Art Center, and “2for1” at Brennan & Griffin Gallery. Earlier solo presentations include “Double Zero -0%0%0%0%0% “at 17 Essex, “Split Double Zero” at Resort in Baltimore, and “Relief” at Torrence Shipman Gallery.

Her work has been included in group exhibitions at venues such as Essex Flowers, The Pit in Los Angeles, ICPNY, and Marinaro Gallery. She has also collaborated on the performance project “Keynotes” with Nick Paparone at institutions including the Institute of Contemporary Art Portland and the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania.

Maghazehe has participated in residencies at ZKM | Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, Germany, Phoenix Earthship Residency in Taos, New Mexico, and Transparency Space in New York. Her work has been featured in publications including Artforum, The New York Times, BmoreArt, and Contemporary Practices. She received her MFA from Columbia University in 2011.
