Chidy Wayne

Chidy Wayne's first major solo with Southern Guild presents new mixed-media paintings by the Barcelona-based artist, some made during his residency in Cape Town. The works extend his Pugnatores series of fighter figures, which he redraws until the anatomy is reduced to a few lines, and here the figures multiply into group compositions. The show draws on his father's image and on ideas of inheritance and endurance.
